Polymethylsilsesquioxane is made of methyltrimethoxysilane formed by methyltrichlorosilane and methanol as raw material, acid as catalyst, first hydrolysis reaction, condensation under alkaline conditions, condensation crystallization into spheres, it is a three-dimensional mesh spherical ultrafine powder material. After high temperature aging and other processes, a solid product is finally obtained. Due to the particularity of the raw material structure (three hydrolyzable groups), through the control of the production process, spherical particles can be polymerized. The organic group structure in the molecule is easy to modify and functionalize. As an important type of nano-hybrid material, it is a kind of organic silicon light diffuser that is currently studied more in China and has a very broad prospect. After polymethylsilsesquioxane is added to products of different materials, it will be evenly dispersed in the matrix as a fine transparent glass sphere. Through the difference in refractive index with different substrates, the light source will be refracted in a penetrating manner, changing the path of light, achieving the purpose of uniform light and light transmission, while meeting the requirements of haze value and light transmittance. Compared with ordinary organic resin type and inorganic powder type light diffusers, polymethylsilsesquioxane combines the advantages of inorganic light scattering particles and organic light scattering particles, and has more excellent characteristics. Polymethylsilsesquioxane is in the form of microsphere powder, which is easy to disperse and add to various resin materials. A very small amount of it can be added to the product to obtain a strong light diffusion effect without damaging the light transmittance of the material. At the same time, it can give the product the unique high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, weather resistance, lubrication, friction resistance and other properties of silicone. It is mainly used in the production of high-performance LEDs and light diffusion materials.

Application fields

01 Light scattering agent

In resin processing, silicone light diffuser can be used as a light scattering agent to obtain a translucent frosted effect. Compared with inorganic powders, this product has better compatibility with resins and is easier to disperse in resins. Generally, it is used in large particle sizes of 50um.

 

02 Film opening agent

It can be used as an opening agent for polyethylene and polypropylene films; the spherical appearance can prevent damage to the film surface, and its superior light transmittance can maintain the transparency of the film and prevent particles from falling off the film surface. It has excellent heat resistance and yellowing resistance and high durability.

 

03 Cosmetics industry

Because the micropowder is uniformly spherical, sliding can occur between the micropowders, which can give the product a better touch and improve the spreading performance. In addition, the principle of scattering when light is irradiated on spherical substances can effectively block wrinkles.

The main applications in the cosmetics field are as follows:

a. Used in powder cakes, it can improve the filling of powder cakes and enhance their resistance to fracture.

b. Used in lipsticks, it can reduce stickiness and enhance spreading.

c. For liquid cosmetics, it can bring good touch and dispersion.

04 Coatings and ink industries

Suitable for coatings and inks with high heat resistance and solvent resistance. It has good toughness and scratch resistance. Compared with inorganic powders, it is easier to disperse and less likely to precipitate. It has better adhesion when combined with coatings, feels particularly delicate, and can form a coating with a more high-end surface.

 

Packaging and transportation: 20kg carton packaging, stored in the original container unopened at below 25°C (77°F), the shelf life of this product is 12 months from the date of production. The product is transported as non-dangerous goods.
