At present, domestic construction sealants are mainly silicone sealant. Compared with MS/SMP sealant, it has more and more prominent features. When material prices fluctuate and users have special requirements, they can choose and switch between them:

1. Environmental protection: silyl-terminated polyether is a long-chain structure of silyloxy-terminated polyether. It does not contain toxic isocyanate groups and free isocyanates like polyurethane sealants; it is solvent-free, formaldehyde-free and has lower Volatile substances (far lower than national standards), non-toxic and odorless, and better environmental protection.

2. Weather resistance and durability: After room temperature moisture curing, the silane-modified polyether sealant will form a network structure of flexible polyether long chains connected by Si-O-Si bonds as cross-linking points. This system not only has excellent Weather resistance, water resistance, aging resistance and durability, and can effectively avoid surface cracks of the sealant after long-term use. For direct exposed use, it meets the double standards of Japanese JS and national standards (9030), has heat and cold resistance in an environment of -30°C to 90°C, and has fatigue resistance of more than 6,000 times. The addition of UV absorbers, light stabilizers, heat stabilizers, free radical scavengers and other materials can extend its service life.

3. Substrate treatment: Due to the low surface energy and high penetration of the base polymer (silyl-terminated polyether), it has good wetting ability for most inorganic, metal and plastic substrates, and the substrate can be produced by simple treatment. Good adhesion.

4. Non-pollution: Since it does not add any volatile solvents or easily migrated plasticizers, it does not contain silicone oil or silicone resin, and it will not absorb dust in the air and cause pollution.

5. Mechanical properties: The molecular structure and cross-linking characteristics of SMP/MS determine the performance and quality of modified silicone sealant (MS sealant). The modulus can be adjusted in a wide range, and the product design can be more extensive. Low-modulus weather-resistant products can be designed. Seam sealing, high-strength bonding, high-hardness mold-proofing, etc. can be designed.

6. Paintability: The surface of ordinary silicone sealant cannot be painted or colored, and can only be adjusted to the color required by the user according to the user's needs; silane-modified polyether sealant can be painted and colored, and has better paintability.
