Instructions
In the separation operation, the blood sample is injected into a blood collection tube with a separation gel at the bottom. After the blood sample is coagulated, it is centrifuged. During centrifugation, the separation gel becomes a flowable sol (the centrifugal force destroys the internal hydrogen bonds of the separation gel, making the viscosity Descending), the blood clot, which is heavier than the separation gel, moves to the bottom of the blood collection tube, forming clear three layers of serum, separation gel and blood clot from top to bottom in the blood collection tube. After centrifugation is stopped, the separating gel becomes a high-viscosity gel again. Because the separation gel can tightly adhere to the blood vessels between the serum and the blood clot to form a closed isolation layer, it blocks the influence of the blood clot on the serum. The use of separating gel not only simplifies the operation of separating serum, but also reduces the chance of virus transmission and medical waste because the entire operation is performed in the same test tube, which solves some safety issues in hematology tests.
