Manta MSEP is a water-reducible potassium methyl siliconate solution, engineered as a premium-grade water repellent for highly porous mineral substrates. Positioned as the superior alternative to conventional sodium siliconates, its unique potassium-based chemistry significantly mitigates the risk of unsightly white salt deposits (efflorescence), making it the ultimate choice for high-aesthetic architectural surfaces.
Following application and deep penetration into the substrate’s capillary tract, the active siliconate reacts with atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2). This rapid curing process constructs an invisible, highly cross-linked polymethylsiloxane network both internally and across the treated surface.
This permanent, insoluble silicone matrix delivers exceptional capillary moisture defense, drastically cutting water absorption while flawlessly maintaining the material’s natural vapor permeability (breathability). Treated structures exhibit outstanding weatherability, anti-aging performance, and resistance to dirt pick-up.
Equivalent grade: Wacker SILRES BS 16, Silblock* WSK masonry water repellent, Dow XIAMETER™ OFS-6778 / XIAMETER™ OFS-0777 Siliconate.
