Mercapto and isocyanato silanes are used in reactive polymer and prepolymer systems. Alkyl silanes are selected for mineral-surface hydrophobization. Fluoro silanes are evaluated for oleophobic surfaces on glass and ceramics. Match the organofunctional group to the resin or substrate, then confirm the hydrolysable group, CAS number and purity requirements on the product TDS.
